On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters to domestic flights, you will be met by our representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha.
After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park, providing vital water for wildlife during the dry season. Known as the "river of warthogs," the park is home to a rich variety of landscapes, from acacia woodlands to towering elephant grass. Tarangire is renowned for its large herds of elephants, which are often seen gathering near the river, offering incredible opportunities to witness these gentle giants up close. Along the way, you may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire is also a birdwatcher’s haven, with more breeding bird species than any other place on earth. After a packed lunch, we head to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we head to Ngorongoro Crater. At first glance, the crater appears as a world frozen in time. Formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed, Ngorongoro is now home to an incredibly diverse ecosystem. It offers a rare chance to see the endangered black rhino and large prides of lions in their natural habitat. The crater is not only known for its stunning geological features but also for its dense population of wildlife, making it one of the most exceptional wildlife reserves in Africa. As we descend into the crater, we’ll be surrounded by vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The expansive grasslands are ideal for spotting the elusive black rhino. After a packed lunch, we continue on our way to Serengeti National Park.
We’ll begin the day with an early breakfast before heading out for our game drive at 6:30 am, allowing us 6 to 7 hours to explore the magnificent Serengeti. This expansive park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. However, its most iconic feature is the great migration—about 250,000 zebras, 1.5 million wildebeest, and 500,000 antelopes that roam the plains in search of fresh grazing. Their journey is driven by the rains and can vary each year. Along with these herds, we’ll have the chance to spot predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, all of whom follow the migration in search of their next meal. Around 2:00 pm, we’ll head back to Karatu, arriving at our chosen mid-range lodge. Here, you can relax with a delicious dinner in a comfortable restaurant, take a dip in the pool, or enjoy a drink by the fire as you soak in the African night sky. Your spacious room will provide a peaceful retreat for the night, perhaps filled with dreams of wild cats.
We’ll begin the day with an early breakfast at the lodge before taking a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Situated 120 km west of Arusha, this compact yet diverse park is named after the shallow soda lake that covers about 70% of its area. The lake, which floods and dries seasonally, is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. As we explore the park, we’ll have the opportunity to encounter a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and elephants. With some luck, we may even spot lions relaxing in the trees. Lake Manyara is famous for its diverse landscapes, ranging from open grassy plains to woodlands teeming with primates, and baobab-dotted cliffs. After a packed lunch, we’ll drive back to Arusha, wrapping up our adventure. We’ll arrive in time for your flight home or a connecting flight to Zanzibar.
